Laura Darrell is the Opening Cast / Press Cast Princess Anna in FROZEN LIVE!
Laura opens FROZEN LIVE as the Opening Cast/Press Cast Princess Anna, becoming the first person to bring Princess Anna to life on stage in FROZEN LIVE at the Hyperion. The show was met with critical acclaim and a standing ovation on press night, May 26th, and on May 27th the show opened to the rest of the park, where again it was met with praise and warmth by the Disney community. Laura Performs in staged reading of Broadway Bound ROCKET BOYS!
Laura will be performing the role of Valentine, a super smart high school student who would kill to be one of the boys, in a staged reading of Rocket Boys, with music and lyrics by Diana Belkowski and Dan Tramon, and book by Homer Hickam, Jr. and Carl Anthony Tramon, produced by Universal, and directed by Adam Fitzgerald (Playwrights Horizons, etc.). The story was made into a movie called October Sky starring Jake Gyllenhaal before it was made into a musical. The show is looking at a potential run in 2016.

Laura Starts Previews and Opens KID VICTORY at the SIGNATURE!
Starting February 17, Laura will begin preview performances (playing the role of Suze) for John Kander (Chicago, Cabaret, The Scottsborro Boys) and Greg Pierce's (Slowgirl) new musical, Kid Victory. Directed by Liesl Tommy and co-produced by the Signature Theatre and Vineyard Theater at the Signature in Arlington, VA, the show will have a funders opening on February 24th and will run till March 22.

Laura Starts Rehearsals for KID VICTORY at the SIGNATURE!
Starting January 19th, Laura will begin rehearsals for John Kander (Chicago, Cabaret, The Scottsborro Boys) and Greg Pierce's (Slowgirl) new musical, Kid Victory, which will be directed by Liesl Tommy and will be co-produced by the Signature Theatre and the Vineyard Theater at the Signature in Arlington, VA outside of DC. The show will run till March 22.

Laura Sings in FARM TO STAGE Concert!
On January 26th, Laura will sing in a one-night only concert featuring music from three in-development new musicals. Musically directed by Laura Bergquist, the evening will be hosted by One Healing Arts Company Executive Director, Nick Demos (Memphis) and Laura will sing a gorgeous duet with Andrew Samonsky (Scandalous, South Pacific) from a new musical written by Peter Yarin and Craig Fols. Laura Books Reading at Ensemble Studio Theatre!

Laura Performs Lead Role in Boston!
Laura will play the role of research assistant, Laura Nebbens in Bridge Rep Co's production of The Forgetting Curve at the Calderwood Pavillion at the Boston Center for the Arts. The show is a world premiere by Vanda, starring Ann Talman and Boston favorite, Dale Place, who just finished King Lear at the Public. Directed by Kimberly Loren Eaton, with movement by Shura Baryshnikov, the show rehearses all of August and begins performances in September, starting previews on the 4th and opening the 6th! Laura Performs Shakespeare in Central Park!
Laura will play the role of Hermia in Boomerang Theatre Co's A Midsummer Night's Dream in Central Park! The show will run from June 21st till July 20th at 72nd and Central Park West. This month Laura will be joining titans of the theatre and film, including Nina Hellman, Richard Bekins, Joyce Van Patten, Raviv Ullman, and Paul Anthony Stewart, in a workshop of a new play called Some Help by Greg Pierce, directed by Anne Kauffman at the New York Theater Workshop. Laura returns to the off-broadway York Theatre Co. this month, playing the role of Adele in a staged reading of a new musical called Life on the Mississippi based on the autobiography of Mark Twain. Laura Books Sense and Sensibility!
Laura will be playing the role of Betsy/Ensemble in an upcoming two week workshop/ reading of Neal Hampton and Jeffrey Haddow's SENSE SENSIBILITY. The reading will be directed by director Marcia Milgrom Dodge and music director David Loud. The reading is being produced by producers Alice Walsh and Betty Ann Solinger. Laura books show at Workshop Theatre Co.
Laura has booked the role of Girl/Sandy in Eddie Antar's new play Full Frontal at the Workshop Theatre Co! Eddie's last play The Navigator was nominated for two Drama Desk awards, and he and director Leslie Burby (The Navigator, Full Frontal) were both nominated for New York Innovative Theater Awards. Laura Darrell Shoots Featured Role in Angelica (due to release 2014).
Laura Darrell plays a lady in the park who rushes to the aid of the lead character Constance, played by Jena Malone, when she hears distressing cries of pain. Directed by Mitchell Lichtenstein, the film is about a couple living in Victorian London who endure an unusual series of psychological and supernatural effects following the birth of their child. Laura Darrell was a featured soloist in Debbie Gravitte's Holiday Concert at the Michael Schimmel Center at Pace downtown. Laura Darrell Performs on mPBN's "Christmas in Maine," airing throughout New England!
Laura Darrell sang "Silent Night" in a New Engalnd PBS special "Christmas in Maine" alongside other New England celebrities, such as Paul in Peter, Paul, and Mary, Tim Sample, and Johnathan Edwards. The event was not only filmed, it was also recorded, and the CD/DVD set is currently being sold to benefit hunger relief. Laura herself was accompanied by Grammy-award winning artist, Paul Sullivan! What a treat!

Laura Darrell Studied and Performed in England!
Laura Darrell trained in an intensive Shakepeare month-long program this summer with notable RSC and BBC directors and actors, including the great Leo Wringer, Ian Wooldrige, John Gorrie, John Tucker, Jackie Snow, as well as masterclasses with Fiona Shaw, Deborah Warner, and John Barton among many other notable British directors and actors. At the end of the program they opened their doors to the public and presented work from Macbeth, Measure for Measure, in which Laura was able to dive into the roles of Isabella and Lady Macbeth, several Pinter plays, notably Party Time and Old Times, as well a selection from Sarah Kane's Crave. A magical experience!

Laura performs in Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra
Directed by Ron Destro, Laura will perform her first professional Shakespeare role, Iras, in William Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra. The run of the show will be limited to five performances at the Church Street Theatre in downtown Manhattan, but tickets are already selling out! She will perform with notable actors including John Triana and Gail D'Addario.

Laura at large Industrial and in BRAG Festival
Laura just got back from singing at a large industrial for Astrazeneca in Orlando with Broadway vets Jeremy Kusnier and Lawrence Clayton, as well as award-winning singer-songwriters Tabitha Fair and Amanda Brown. Musically directed by Joseph Baker, the event was a success!! Laura also recently performed with her improv troup, Rufus Kahn, in the BRAG Festival. Rufus Kahn is a professional short-form improv troupe that performs throughout the city, notably at the Players Theatre in West Village.

Laura Finds Success with Gigs in NYC
Laura has had a successful summer playing gigs around NYC, including Gizzi's Cafe and Wicked Willys next to the Bitter End, and looks forward to her CD Release event at One Longfellow Square in Portland ME in September.
